I am Lion, Hear Me Roar
Leo Season is HERE! The second fire sign in the zodiac, the stereotypical “divas”... it’s your time to shine! But… let’s talk about how you got into the stars before we talk about your soap. This myth is one linked to Heracles.
Known for his twelve labors, Heracles (or as the Romans called him Hercules), is in the heavens as a place of honor. Up there with him is the Nemean Lion, one of the twelve labors Heracles had to complete as penance for his wife’s murder. The story of the Nemean Lion goes like this:
“A huge lion was living in the suburbs of Nemea protecting a temple of Zeus. The lion fed on the livestock of Eurystheus and his people. Something had to be done about this, and King Eurystheus sent Heracles to take care of it. Heracles thought he could shoot the lion with olive arrows, but nothing got past the thick skin of the child of Typhon and Echidna, monsters of their own right. Heracles fought valiantly and then trapped the lion in its den in the mountainside before realizing that no weapon could injure it.
“So, he knew he had to kill the lion with his bare hands. Strangling the lion, he killed it and ended the reign of terror the lion, sent by Zeus’s wife Hera, had brought about. Hera had been jealous once more by affairs her husband had and trained the lion to keep people from worshiping at Zeus’s temple. Heracles, guided by Athena, skinned the lion with one of its own claws and made a cloak from it, giving him extra protection. Hera was saddened when she lost the lion she raised and gave it a place among the stars so humans could remember the power of the gods and creatures they cared for.”
According to Astrology Zodiac Signs, Leo’s element is fire; the colors are gold, orange, and yellow; and they are ruled by the Sun. Like the sun, Leo’s are compassionate, warm, humorous, generous, and creative. Also like the sun, they can be inflexible, self-centered, and arrogant. Leo’s are natural-born leaders and love to be in the spotlight. With a flair for drama, they take the stage and put on a show for everyone. This Leo Zodiac soap does the same!
