The Lore

In Norse mythology, Jörmungandr is a giant sea serpent who encircles Midgard, the realm of humans. This legendary creature was the offspring of Loki and the giantess Angrboda. He's often shown devouring his own tail, a symbol called the Ouroboros, representing eternity and the endless cycle of life. Jörmungandr also stands for the order and chaos of the cosmos, balance, and renewal. Accordingly, this natural soap is imbued with scents which promote a sense of balance, rejuvenation, and relaxation.

The Lather

Midgard's Serpent is a nag champa and blood orange soap scented with natural fragrance and essential oils. Often used in incense, nag champa is a traditional Indian scent with notes of sandalwood, warm amber, and floral notes of rose and lily of the valley. Blood orange adds a vibrant citrus fruit element that is sweet and uplifting. 

Vibrant black, purple, green, and pink colors, made with ethically sourced micas, swirl together like Jörmungandr's shimmering scales. Additionally, each bar of soap bears the distinctive texture of his enormous snakeskin, highlighted with eco-glitter.

  • Olive oil's gentle cleansing properties help to remove dirt and impurities, and above all results in clean, glowing skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Coconut oil and castor seed oil also contribute to the soap's moisturizing properties.
  • Blood orange historically has symbolized vitality, passion, and life force. The aroma aids in stress-relief, mental clarity, and concentration.
  • The scent of incense has been used throughout the ages to cleanse and purify, and as a means of connecting with the divine.
  • Sandalwood is a warm, woody scent used in aromatherapy for centuries to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

Made in small batches. Every batch varies in appearance, but each bar is approximately 5.5 oz. Our soaps last the average person 4-8 weeks, depending on use and storage.

Incredibly Scented!!

Digging this lovely scented Nag Champa soap, loving the beauty and color depth n swirls of this soap, visually pleasing art too--blues, indigos and purples are my jam! My hands are pretty beat up in my line of work, often chapped, nicked and raw at end of the day...the rich lather of this soap is absolute HEAVEN to wash my tender hands with. Loving Nag Champa, it's one of my all time favorite go-to incense scents to use in my aromatherapy around my house too. LOVE LOVE LOVE this soap will be ordering more..I'm quickly becoming a BOV soap addict here on the West Coast!! :0) Thank You!!

Nag Champa is one of my favorite incense scents. I absolutely love this soap! Not only is this soap beautiful to look at, with all its blue n purple, green and pinks... it's beautiful to lather up my hands too. I love how thick this soap lathers but leaves my hands silky soft and scented afterward. This is in my master bath, so I can smell it as I walk into my bedroom! Love it!!
