Imbolc History

For those of you who don't know, Imbolc is a Gaelic holiday that is the mid-point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, specifically on February 1st-2nd. This mid-winter holiday celebrates the coming of the spring season; as the darkest weeks of the year have come to pass and its now time to celebrate the light (Elding and Moore)!

Brigid- Goddess of Imbolc

Traditionally, Imbolc honors the pagan goddess Brigid- the goddess of fertility, poetry, crafts, and prophecy. She is also seen in Christianity and is viewed as one of Ireland's patron saints. She is also the patron saint of Irish nuns, newborns, midwives, dairy maids, and cattle (History.com Editors).

Many pagans mark Imbolc with altar blessings, deep cleaning, and intention setting. Other ways to celebrate are cooking with dairy- as Imbolc may be associating with the lambing cycle which can signal spring coming, lighting candles, and building bonfires (Crowe).

While Birds of Valhalla doesn't necessarily have anything Imbolc specific, we do have products that may be helpful to your Imbolc celebration, as well as soaps geared toward certain non-pagan holidays that happen during the later half of winter.

Twin Flames- Dark Crystal Valentine's Day Soap Adorned with Real Crystal

The runner-up of the 2026 Discord Valentine's Day poll! Twin Flames is a combination of our fragrances, Dark Crystal- a heavy woods and spice scent, and combined with long-time fan favorite Deadly Nightshade- Orange, Lavender, and Vanilla. 

Additionally, each soap bar will adorned with a random crystal- either a garnet, garden quartz, or an obsidian tumble.

Two fragrance souls combine to make this deep and mysterious fragrance.

Pisces Soap and Solid Cologne Combo

Get the classic soap that made us Tiktok famous. Warning, these are extremely limited and we can't guarantee that we will make more… 

Both the Pisces Soap and the solid cologne use the same fragrance called "Pisces Frosted Fjord"! It's a blend of phthalate-free fragrences called Starshower, Fresh Snow, and Azure Coast.

This soap smells like clean linen and fresh laundry with a snowy, uplifting edge; providing a very icy a dunmistakably Piscean vibe. The colors are a mix of blue, teal, and glow‑in‑the‑dark white.

This scent is gender neutral, and each bar is topped with crystal quartz’s gemstone! Sometimes these crystals are smooth and tumbled, spheres, or pointed. Please remove these crystals before use, or cut the top of the soap with the embeds in them out before use.

Each batch is handmade, and each bar is a little different from the last, but the quality and scent remain as well as the effects on your skin... especially in dry conditions and weather!

Our recipe is a nourishing blend of olive oil, coconut oil, and food-based ingredients to make this great bar of unisex soap that will not only be unique and beautiful but help your skin too!

Spring Scents

Idunn's Blossom

A previous custom made by Lacie- this scent is named for the Norse goddess of youth, rejuvenation, and spring. This secret soap contains bergamot black tea, along with citron, mandarin, and lilac. A perfect soap for the upcoming spring season. And if you purchase this soap, you will be enteted in a raffle to win a handmaid beanie by Lacie herself! Raffle drawing is on Valentine's Day. 

This soap was made on 01/22 and will take 4-6 weeks to cure.

Freya's Cat

A captivating blend of patchouli, blood orange, and amber. The scent opens with bright, citrus notes from the blood orange, grounded by the warm earthiness of patchouli, and finishes with a smooth, resinous amber glow. Made on 01/22 and will take 4-6 weeks to cure.

Candles for Imbolc 

These are perfect burning candles or darn near close! Be sure to trim your wicks every hour or two and never leave any candles unattended. These candles will burn for longer than average and smell strong. Made with premium ingredients, our candles burn long with scents to delight the senses.
