If there is one thing you need to know about a Taurus, it's how stubborn they can be. I can't tell you what came first, the phrase "stubborn as a bull" or Taurus being defined by their stubbornness and the bull motif, but it definitely fits like a glove. This is due to them being a "fixed earth" sign, which will be further in the next section of this blog.
Element and Modality: Earth and Fixed
Earth signs are rock solid and reliable. The pillar of support- this is who you want when you need someone stable and responsible in your life. It's rare to find a flakey Taurus.
Taurus being a fixed sign adds an extra level to this stability. They are literally fixed in their ways, and figuratively, like a pole in the ground. It's not that they can't change or start things, but they will probably start slow. Once they have themselves set on a path, nothing will stop them.

That being said, as long as a Taurus is continuing to progress through life, and dedicated to being their best selves- these traits can actually be seen in a positive light. It's all a matter of balance.
